What Are All-on-4 Dental Implants?
They are a modern, straightforward solution that allows people who have lost all or most of their teeth—or whose remaining teeth are severely damaged, highly mobile, or extensively decayed—to eat, speak, and laugh again in less than 24 hours.
With this technique, just four dental implants strategically placed in the upper or lower jaw are enough to support a fixed prosthesis. It immediately restores all your teeth without a palate, adhesives, hooks, or uncomfortable removable dentures.
Benefits of Getting All-on-4 Teeth:
Aesthetics and Function from the Very Beginning:
Fewer Implants and Lower Cost:
Bone Preservation:
Immediate Placement:
Improved Appearance and Self-Esteem.
Options Where None Seemed Possible.
This System Can Be Used for Patients with Chronic Conditions.
Disadvantages of Getting All-on-4 Implants:
It cannot be removed by the patient: For deep cleaning, it must be removed by a dentist experienced with the system.
It does not work when there is no bone remaining. A patient with no available bone is not a candidate for All-on-4 implants. The system can be used for patients with very little bone or those whom other dentists previously considered ineligible for implants, but it cannot be used when bone volume is minimal or nonexistent.
Problems may arise if an implant fails. If one implant does not integrate, it may compromise the stability of the entire prosthesis. Although four implants are the minimum for this system, placing at least one or two additional implants is strongly recommended. If one implant fails, the additional implant or implants help ensure the system continues to function fully and properly.
How Do I Know If I Am a Candidate for All-on-4 Implants?
The first thing you should know is that your attitude and commitment are essential. You must genuinely want to improve your appearance, eat better, and speak and laugh without embarrassment.
You should also know that even among dentists who specialize in dental implants, NOT all have the skills and experience required to perform All-on-4 treatment. Make sure you are treated by a reputable specialist with expertise in this system.
If you have conditions such as diabetes or cardiovascular disease, they must be under control, and you should have good oral health.
You should not smoke, or you must be willing to stop smoking for a specified period, follow postoperative care instructions, attend checkups, and maintain good oral hygiene.
Our holistic, personalized approach allows us to address every case comprehensively and deliver results that exceed your expectations.
How Much Does It Cost to Get
All-on-4 Implants?
It is a truly affordable treatment when you consider the comprehensive value it provides—especially the immediate ability to eat better, improve the appearance of your smile, speak more naturally and confidently, and support your long-term oral health. Together, these benefits lead to a better quality of life.
We often prioritize spending on material goods such as a car, which loses value over time. Investing in oral health, however, provides lasting benefits and directly improves our quality of life.
It is an important step toward better health and a renewed smile.
Does It Hurt to Get All-on-4 Implants?
All-on-4 implant placement does not hurt during the procedure because it is performed under local anesthesia. In most cases, conscious sedation is recommended to help you remain comfortable and relaxed while keeping your vital signs stable, making the process safe. After the procedure, mild to moderate discomfort is very common and will subside with the prescribed medication.
What Can I Eat After Getting All-on-4 Implants?
At this stage, the priority is to allow the tissues to heal properly and avoid placing excessive pressure on the newly placed implants. During the first few weeks—generally two to four weeks—your diet should consist mainly of soft, easy-to-chew foods, such as liquids and purées; warm, not hot, soups and broths; vegetable purées such as potato, carrot, and squash; fruit purées such as apple, banana, and pear; smooth yogurt without fruit pieces; and shakes or smoothies without small seeds.
Other options include strained fruit juices; soft foods such as scrambled or soft-boiled eggs; cooked, flaked fish without bones; shredded or finely chopped chicken; tender ground meat; soft cooked pasta such as macaroni or thin noodles; well-cooked white rice; smooth refried beans; mashed avocado; and crustless bread soaked in milk. Staying well hydrated by drinking plenty of water is also recommended. A useful guideline is that you may eat anything you can cut with a plastic fork.
Remember that this phase is temporary and crucial for proper implant osseointegration. Soon you will be able to enjoy a much broader diet with your new All-on-4 system!
What Other Alternatives Are Available Besides All-on-4?
By placing six or eight dental implants, patients who have lost all their teeth can receive a fixed, palate-free dental prosthesis.
This option provides greater stability than All-on-4 implants because the forces are distributed more evenly and the additional implants increase the treatment’s durability.
However, sufficient bone must be available in the upper and lower jaws for the implants to be placed.
With this treatment alternative, we can replace an entire dental arch by placing six implants in the upper or lower jaw to support three permanent bridges.
This approach provides successful, long-lasting treatment by strategically balancing chewing forces.
The main benefit is that because the bridges are separate, only one segment needs to be repaired if a problem occurs, without affecting the other teeth. It is also easier to maintain good hygiene and, most importantly, the result is attractive and natural.
You should know that other options may offer better results in terms of cost, appearance, and function when replacing all missing teeth, compared with dental implants.
For example, complete dentures must include a palate because this is their only retention mechanism, and they are held in place by the oral tissue (gums). However, they can be highly aesthetic, with teeth made using German technology that are extremely translucent and available in a variety of sizes and shades selected according to your expectations and facial features.
You should also keep in mind that, unlike dental implants, bone will unfortunately be lost over time, causing the prosthesis to become misaligned and reducing its retention.
